'A slim snapper for life at high speed'

You may recall me raving about Casio's Exilim EX-F1, a camera capable of spectacular tricks, from shootings super-slow-mo video to capturing 30 pictures per second. It was a revelation, albeit a pricey one.

Now, Casio brings the same powerful tech to the pocket-sized, affordable camera, EX-FC 100. This slimline shooter competes well with rivals; its nine-megapixel resolution is married to a 5X zoom and assisted by images stabilisation. Its main flaw is its relatively weak performance in low light. But speed is what the EX-FC 100 lives for. If you are photographing an unpredictable event, the camera can snap 30 shots in a row-some before you press the shutter fully. Slow-mo video can be just as much fun, capturing from 200 frames per second up to an amazing 1000 FPS.

Verdict: The €400 pricetag is justified with some phenomenal results
